Day 1
Fly from the UK to Mumbai
Days 2-3
Mumbai
Welcome to India! Your journey begins in Mumbai, where a local representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You'll meet your fellow travellers and local leader at 6 pm, and you can explore the city if you have extra time beforehand. Visit the Bollywood Walk of Fame or enjoy a meal at a Parsi café, a testament to Mumbai's cultural diversity. The next day, embark on a guided city tour, starting at Dhobi Ghat, the world’s largest outdoor laundry, for a unique glimpse into local life. Visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to admire its Victorian Gothic style, then head to the Prince of Wales Museum, housing over 50,000 artefacts from India’s rich history. After the tour, the afternoon is free for your own explorations, with your leader offering tips on where to enjoy a local dinner.
Days 4-5
Udaipur
After a relaxed morning, fly to Udaipur, the "City of Lakes," known for its stunning architecture and scenic surroundings. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel and join your leader for a short walk to explore the romantic city. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, offering views of Udaipur’s heritage buildings and hills. Visit Jag Mandir, a palace built in 1620, before dining at a lakeside restaurant with a beautiful sunset view. The next day, visit the City Palace, Rajasthan's largest palace, overlooking Lake Pichola. Explore its grand interior with your guide, learning about its history. Enjoy free time to wander Udaipur's Old Town or relax by the lake. In the evening, experience traditional Rajasthani culture at a haveli, where a folk dance performance showcases local artistry in a charming courtyard.
Day 6
Bundi
Today, drive to Bundi, a historic town founded in the 12th century and the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s 'Kim'. Known for its step wells, old homes, and the impressive Taragarh Fort, Bundi offers stunning views as you enter. Upon arrival, join your leader for an orientation walk through narrow streets lined with blue houses, bazaars, and temples. In the evening, enjoy a memorable dinner with a local Rajput family, who will share traditional food and stories about their heritage.
Days 7-8
Pushkar
Start your day by exploring the 17th-century Bundi Palace, perched above the town and offering panoramic views with stunning turquoise and gold murals inside. Afterward, drive to Pushkar, arriving by late afternoon. Known for its 500+ temples, Pushkar is one of India’s holiest cities. Take an orientation walk with your leader through its vibrant streets, religious sites, and around the central lake. The next day join your leader for a tour of Pushkar’s ghats and temples, observing rituals at Brahma Temple. Enjoy free time in the afternoon before gathering for a unique evening. Head to the sand dunes for a sunset, followed by a traditional Rajasthani dinner and a performance of Kalbelia dance, immersing you in the local culture.
Days 9-10
Jaipur
This morning, drive from Pushkar to Jaipur, the vibrant 'Pink City' of Rajasthan. Check in at the charming Hotel Narain Niwas Palace, a heritage hotel since 1928, offering a homely yet opulent atmosphere with peacocks roaming the grounds. After settling in, join your leader for a walking tour of Jaipur’s lively bazaars, filled with textiles, folk art and semi-precious stones. The next day, visit the stunning Amber Fort, with its red sandstone, marble and intricate Hindu-style architecture. In the afternoon, enjoy drinks on a rooftop with panoramic views of Jaipur’s old city.
Days 11-12
Ranthambore National Park
This morning, leave Jaipur and head to Ranthambore, home to one of the best tiger spotting national parks in the world. The park also features ancient temples, mosques, and diverse wildlife. Upon arrival, relax by the pool or take a stroll around town, preparing for tomorrow's adventure. Start early the next day with a morning safari in Ranthambore National Park, a reserve where nature has reclaimed ancient ruins. On your game drive, search for tigers and other wildlife such as gazelles, hyenas, leopards, and crocodiles. After some downtime in the afternoon, enjoy an evening safari for another chance to spot tigers. You may also visit the 1000-year-old Ranthambore Fort, with its surviving pavilions like Badal Mahal and Hammirs Court, offering a glimpse into its former splendour.
Day 13
Agra
Today, drive to Agra and visit the iconic Taj Mahal at sunset. This 17th-century masterpiece, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, is a stunning example of Mughal architecture, surrounded by lush gardens. An expert guide will share the history of this world wonder as you explore the grounds.
Days 14-15
Delhi
Start the day with a visit to Agra Fort, built in 1565 from red sandstone and later transformed into a palace by Shah Jahan. Afterwards, travel to Delhi, India’s vibrant capital. In the afternoon, explore the city with your leader and navigate the busy streets on a traditional rickshaw near the Chandni Chowk marketplace, visit the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque and the Sheeshganj Gurudwara Sikh temple for a peaceful moment. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at one of Delhi’s oldest restaurants, serving guests for over 80 years. Your tour ends on the following morning and you're free to leave whenever you like, or if you'd like to extend your travels just talk to one of our friendly consultants who will be happy to tailor-make your holiday.
