Frequently asked questions

G Adventures cruises can take you to some of the most epic off-the-beaten-path destinations around the globe. Think remote regions like Antarctica, the Galápagos Islands, the Amazon and the Arctic.

Yes, absolutely! Guided excursions and activities are all part of the package. Whether it’s hiking across glaciers or snorkelling with sea lions, these experiences are designed to immerse you in the culture, wildlife, and landscapes of your destination. Just keep in mind that excursions will vary with each itinerary - chat with your Travel Expert to confirm exactly what is included in yours.

While most G Adventures cruises cater to adventure-loving adults and solo travellers, they do offer some family-friendly options. These specific cruises are designed to ensure everyone, including kids, can enjoy the experience without missing out on the fun and exploration. If in doubt, chat with your local Flight Centre Travel Expert to find the perfect cruise for your tiny travellers.

It depends on your nationality and where you’re travelling. Some destinations will require a visa, while others may not. Chat with your Flight Centre Travel Expert to confirm exactly what is needed for your trip.

Yes, all meals are included on board, and they’re usually crafted with local flavours in mind. You’ll enjoy delicious, hearty meals to fuel your adventures—whether it’s breakfast before a hike or dinner after a day of wildlife watching. Just make sure you confirm all the inclusions of your itinerary so you can budget for any extra meals if needed.

Forget massive ocean liners! G Adventures uses smaller expedition-style ships, perfect for getting up close and personal with nature. These intimate vessels are designed for exploration and comfort, allowing access to remote places where the big ships won’t fit.

The best time to join a G Adventures cruise really depends on your destination. Heading to Antarctica? The best time is during the southern hemisphere’s summer (November to March). The Galápagos is amazing all year round, while the Arctic is best visited during the northern summer (June to August).

Layers are your best friend. Depending on your destination, pack comfortable, breathable clothing you can layer up, plus waterproofs, a sturdy pair of walking shoes, and any essentials for outdoor activities. Oh, and don’t forget your camera for all those once-in-a-lifetime moments.

The length of a G Adventures cruise varies, but they usually range between 7 to 14 days depending on where you’re headed and how much adventure you’re after.

No, travel insurance isn’t included, but highly recommended - it’s always a good idea to be covered for any unexpected surprises while travelling, especially in these remote areas! Chat with your Flight Centre Travel Expert who can bundle travel insurance into your overall package.
