Frequently asked questions

How many days in Nevada is enough?

When most people think of Nevada, one destination comes to mind – Las Vegas, baby! If you’re planning a Vegas vacay, aim for three days (and nights) to explore the strip. If, however, you plan to hit the open road and explore Nevada’s other side, you’ll need a week at least.

What to take on holiday to Nevada?

Vegas is all about the glitz and glamour, so dress to impress. After all, if you can’t wear sequins and heels at 9am in Vegas, where can you? When it comes to the specifics, it’s best to do some research based on the time of year you will be travelling and if you are planning on hitting the desert, that’s a whole packing list in itself.

Where to go on holiday in Nevada?

It’s little surprise that Las Vegas attracts the lion’s share of Nevada visitors, but it isn’t all glitz, glamour and gambling. Those who care to venture beyond the strip will discover an incredible and diverse part of the world filled with breathtaking desert landscapes, Lake Tahoe, the historic town of Virginia City, Lamoille Canyon, hot springs and some of the world’s best stargazing.

What is the best part of Nevada to visit?

It depends what brings you to Nevada in the first place. If it’s the promise of a wild Hangover-style adventure, casinos and dancing fountains, Vegas is where you want to be. Just one hour away, you’ll find the Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada’s oldest and largest state park filled with ancient trees and breathtaking desert vistas. Lamoille Canyon is known as the ‘Grand Canyon of Nevada’ while those who really yearn for adventure can head to Spencer Hot Springs, Lake Tahoe and Tonopah.

When is the best time to visit Nevada?

If you’re dreaming of rooftop pool parties in Vegas, summer sizzles in more ways than one. Be warned though, it can be brutally hot. Spring and fall are generally the most popular times to visit as the temperature is a little more bearable. Naturally, holidays are big in Vegas, with Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day weekend, Christmas and New Years drawing big crowds.

What is there to do in Nevada?

Lace up your hiking boots and explore the national parks, chase waterfalls and sink into hot springs, do a little stargazing, get your heartrate up at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, gaze in awe at Hoover Dam, hit the slopes of Mt. Rose, catch a show in Vegas, watch the dancing fountain at the Bellagio, the list goes on and on!
