Touch down in Brisbane, pick up your car and set off for Caloundra, a beautifully laid-back, beachside spot. The soft white sands and warm waters are the main attraction, offering a plethora of water sports including windsurfing, kayaking, fishing and stand-up paddle boarding. If you fancy break from all the beach lazing, head for the Queensland Air Museum, and don’t leave town without tucking into some freshly caught seafood or fish and chips on the beach.

Noosa
Leaving Caloundra behind, why not call in at Australia Zoo and admire the wombats, koalas and kangaroos. Your next stop is Noosa, where you have four days to explore. While you’re here, take a trip to the Noosa Everglades to admire the glassy lakes and wetlands, home to myriad bird species. You’ll also have the chance to explore 70kms of sand dunes on a Great Beach Day drive tour, stopping for lagoon swims, dolphin spotting and stunning sunset views.

Hinterland
Heading back south, you’ll stop for two days among the rainforest in the Hinterland. Staying in the rainforest, you’ll be surrounded by trees, nature and the sounds of the forest. Spend two days enjoying rainforest walks to plunging waterfalls, learning about the intriguing Bunya Nut Tree, and looking out for the very shy platypus on the Maleny Trail.
