Your Example Itinerary
Day 1
Fly from the UK to Las Vegas
Day 2
Las Vegas
Prepare to have your senses dazzled by the neon lights and showmanship of Sin City, a sizzling metropolis in the middle of the desert. See the strip lit up at night, wonder at the kitsch of the themed hotels, or perhaps catch one of the world-famous Cirque du Soleil shows. Roll the dice and try your luck, after all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
5* The Signature at MGM Grand
Days 3-4
Zion National Park
Here you can walk among the towering cliffs, admire the red, pink and orange hues of the sandstone and feel like a desert pioneer.

Days 5-6
Grand Canyon South Rim
No photo quite does the Grand Canyon justice. Be sure to roam the rim at sunset, when the colours flit and change with the sky, and it’s easy to make out the different levels and types of rock that make up this epic natural wonder. To get an idea of the immense scale of the Canyon, and for an unforgettable experience, consider a helicopter flightseeing tour over it.

Days 7-8
Lake Powell
Drive from the Grand Canyon, through Kaibab National Forest and the city of Page, and onto Lake Powell – a water sports haven. The second largest man-made lake in America stretches for 186 miles, serving up plenty of space for hiking, boating rafting and much more. Why not hire a speedboat and go exploring? Or perhaps book a tour to the nearby Rainbow Bridge Monument – one of the most famous natural bridges in the world.

Day 9
Monument Valley
Stop off for a tour of Antelope Canyon, before heading to the iconic Monument Valley. Here you can admire world-renowned monoliths, stopping to take photos of ‘The Mittens’, ‘John Fords’ Point’ and ‘Three Sisters’. To visit some restricted areas too, consider booking a Deluxe Tour from Goulding’s, which we can help you arrange.

Day 10
Bluff/San Juan River
Surrounded by jaw-dropping landscapes, the Utah city of Bluff is a great place to set up camp – if only for a day. Use that day to explore the San Juan River; a 26-mile trip down the water with Wild River Expeditions will take you to the Butler Wash petroglyph panel, the River House cliff dwelling, and plenty of places where you’re likely to spot bighorn sheep and discover 300-million-year-old fossils.

Day 11
Mesa Verde National Park
Head for Mesa Verde via the Four Corners Monument – the only place in the country where you can stand in four states (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah) at once. Recognised by UNESCO for its archaeological significance, Mesa Verde National Park is full of sites built by the Ancestral Puebloans between 550 and 1300 AD. The cliff dwellings here are some of the best-preserved ruins in North America, making them a great destination for history and culture buffs.

Days 12-13
Moab
For outdoorsy activities aplenty, against a backdrop of dramatic geological landscapes, Moab is a great stop. Visit Hole N” The Rock – a unique home carved out of a rock – before discovering the rest of Canyonlands Country. Soak up the views from the Island in the Sky Visitor Center, before getting immersed in the national park’s adventure offering: think 4X4ing, white-water rafting and cruising the Colorado River at sunset.

Day 14
Capitol Reef / Arches National Parks
Pose for photos with the Delicate, Double and Landscape Arch, each only a short hike in Arches National Park, before driving onto Capitol Reef, where red rock valleys reign supreme. A treasure trove of cliffs, canyons, dome and bridges, you’ll feel like you’re in a John Wayne flick when you explore this vast region on foot. Visit the Gifford Homestead to get a taste of what it’s like to live in a desert oasis.

Days 15-16
Bryce Canyon National Park
Your next highlight is an impressive one: the vast Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Make a pit stop here as you cruise along the scenic Byway 12, keeping the camera handy for postcard-perfect shots of those narrow slot canyons, prehistoric sites and old Western movie sets. And the landscape changes again when you reach Bryce – expect hoodoos, rising from the floor like jagged teeth, and Mother Nature-made amphitheatres aplenty, not to mention some great stargazing opportunities after dark. Visit during the park’s annual Astronomy Festival (June) to see the canopy at its best.
