Frequently asked questions

Our Africa tour packages often include stops in countries like South Africa, Kenya, and Egypt, among others.

Some Africa tour packages include flights, while others do not. Check the package details and chat with your travel expert to include flights in your booking.

You betcha! Most Africa packages will include guided tours to offer insights into historical sites, visit bucket list locations and help you learn more about local life and culture. They also provide an added layer of safety in remote destination.

If you can’t find something that includes everything you’re after, chat with one of our travel experts who can create a custom package based on your needs.

What you pack will depend on where in Africa you are visiting. With that in mind, we recommend including plenty of lightweight, modest clothing, a hat, bug spray and sunscreen along with comfortable footwear and a decent camera to capture all of your holiday snaps.

Tours typically range from one week to over a month or two depending on the itinerary. It all depends on how much time you have off, and how many countries you’re hoping to see on your big African adventure.

The best time to visit Africa depends on what you’re hoping to experience. As a rule of thumb, spring and autumn are ideal for most destinations as they tend to offer milder temperatures and fewer crowds. If you’re keen to spot animal migrations then travelling between July and November is your best bet.

Safety in Africa varies by country. We advise all visitors follow travel advisories, keep up to date with local guidelines and use common sense. (P.S. Don’t forget to grab some travel insurance, that way you’re covered in case something does go wrong).

Yes, many of our tours offer family-friendly activities, experiences and accommodation. If in doubt, chat with your local Flight Centre travel expert to find the right Africa tour option for your fam.
